Grass fire burns in Port Boliver

Fire has been burning for more than 8 hours.

PORT BOLIVER, Galveston Co. -

The Galveston County deputies said a grass fire in the Port Boliver area near Bicayne Beach remains uncontrolled.

Crews from several fire departments have been working the fire since around 8 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters worked to get the blaze under control despite high winds in the area.

Crews from the Port Boliver fire department and the Crystal Beach Volunteer fire department said there were no homes, businesses or other structures in jeopardy.

No injuries were reported.
