Victim finds rape suspect on Facebook
A teenage girl turned to Facebook to find the man she said f raped her, said Harris County Sheriff's deputies.
Sean Rumley has been charged with sexual assault of a child.
Detectives said the 16-year-old victim and a friend were house sitting last March when they invited some friends over. Rumley, 22, came with one of the teen's friends.
The girl told police she went upstairs to go to bed after having a few drinks. While upstairs, she told detectives that Rumley came into the room and raped her. He stopped and took off after the girl began screaming, said officials.
Court documents show the girl tracked down Rumley on Facebook through mutual friends.
After learning his full name, the girl told the pastor about the sexual assault, according to court documents. The pastor then told the girl's parents, who told investigators.
Rumley was arrested in November after turning himself in. Prior to that, police said he tried evading them.
The homeowner said she was away on the cruise at the time of the incident. She told KPRC Local 2 that she didn't know what happened until she was asked by a reporter.
Rumley, who has a criminal history of theft and evading police, is out of jail on $30,000 bond.
