HOUSTON -

A teenager was arrested and accused of burglarizing a northwest Houston neighborhood on Monday.

Police said a home alarm went off in the 3900 block of Elm Crest in the Inwood Forrest subdivision Monday at 7:50 a.m. The teenager threw a brick through the back window and went inside the house, investigators said. A few minutes later, police said a report came in about a suspicious person at another house nearby in the 3700 block of Trappers Forest Drive.

Police arrested a 14-year-old female and took her to a juvenile detention facility. Officers said she was carrying a backpack with tools to help her break into homes.

The girl is expected to be charged with burglary. Her identity hasn't been released.
