Gas prices in Texas have jumped because of Hurricane Isaac.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded went up 9 cents to $3.64.
"Texans are now paying about $51 to fill up a 14-gallon size gas tank," said AAA Texas/New Mexico Public Affairs Specialist Doug Shupe.
Several refineries in the Gulf of Mexico closed as Isaac moved closer to land.
Analysts said the price spike will likely be short-lived if there is minimal damage to refineries in the area.
The national average for a gallon of gas also went up 5 cents to $3.80.
