Deputies search for missing man

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas -

A man has been missing since the beginning of January and detectives think foul play may be involved.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said Derrick Dwayne Daniels, 39, was last seen at his home in the Kingsbridge subdivision on Jan. 4.

Relatives said they saw Daniels pull out of his driveway.

"He was headed to some type of meeting in the north Houston area," said Bob Haenel with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

Family members said they haven't seen or heard from him since that day.

"We don't think it was an accident. We think perhaps he had a meeting with some folks and it came out badly," Haenel said. "We're hoping for the best, but right now we think it's foul play."

Detectives said they are also checking in the Nacogdoches area in East Texas, where Daniels has family and friends.

Daniels is black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 to 220 pounds with some scars on his chin and at the hairline on his forehead. Derrick Daniels

Investigators said Daniels was last seen driving a 2002 tan-colored Chevrolet Tahoe with Texas license plate TXS-105.

Anyone with information regarding Daniels' whereabouts is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
