Former law students sue over failing grades
Students blame poor grade for dismissal from program
Former students at Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law are now suing the school over their failing grades.
Karla Ford and Jonathan Chan said the professor in their Contracts II class gave them both a letter grade of D, which resulted in their dismissal from the program.
Both students called the grades "arbitrary and capricious."
Ford and Chan said they asked to view their graded exams after the final grade for the course was posted, but were denied.
The school's academic standard's committee said there was not enough evidence to support their claim.
Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law requires all students to maintain a 2.0 grade point average at the end of their first year.
