Fire damages southwest Houston apartment
Investigators believe an electrical short was to blame
A downstairs apartment suffered minor damage after a fire early Thanksgiving morning, Houston firefighters said.
The fire started around 1:30 a.m. at the Mint Apartment Homes on Rodeo Square and Dairy Ashford Road.
When crews arrived on scene, they found the outside of a ground floor apartment burning. They were able to put the fire out before it spread.
The fire burned a utility closet and part of the apartment's patio, but did not damage the home itself.
After some investigation, firefighters determined the fire was caused by an electrical short.
No one was hurt.
