Fire consumes abandoned home

HOUSTON -

Firefighters battled a blaze at an abandoned north Houston home on Thursday.

The fire broke out on Kirkfield near West Road about 4 p.m.

Bright orange flames were seen shooting out of the home's roof.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
