HOUSTON -

Fire investigators believe electrical problems started a fire that burned a southwest Houston building that has been around since 1925.

The flames started around 4 a.m. at the Vintage Lounge in the 2100 block of Kipling at Greenbriar Drive. The club was closed at the time.

The fire crawled up the walls and spread to the second floor while crews were inside the building, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters said the building used to be a home and the old construction made the fire tough to control.

The club suffered heavy damage that will keep the club closed for some time, officials said.

One firefighter was overcome by heat and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.  He is expected to make a full recovery.
