An argument over sexual orientation led to a shooting that landed one person in a hospital.
Houston police said the incident happened around 9 p.m. Thursday on Barberry Drive and Scott Street in southeast Houston.
Investigators said two men were teasing two girls about their sexual orientation.
According to detectives, a 16-year-old got involved, defending the girls, and began fighting with one of the men.
The argument escalated and, officers said, the teen pulled out a gun and shot one of the men in the shoulder.
The shooting victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.
