Houston police have arrested two suspects accused of fatally stabbing a man and injuring two others.

It happened at 7510 Shady Villa Lane about 12:55 a.m. Sunday.

Neva Jane Gonzales, 44, and Samuel Joseph Alvarado, 33, are both charged with capital murder in the death of Jose Fernandez Maes, 46, authorities said.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Maes' home and took Gonzales and Alvarado into custody.

Investigators said Gonzales and Alvarado had a previous argument with Maes and the victims. Gonzales and Alvarado then attempted to rob them, police said.

Maes and two other individuals had suffered multiple stab wounds, police said. Maes was pronounced dead at the scene and the other two victims were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
