Family loses home in fire
The family woke up when they smelled smoke

A Kingwood family lost their house in a fire Saturday morning.
Houston firefighters were dispatched to Highland Laurels Drive near Oak Wood Forest at around 1 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, the two-story home was engulfed in flames.
The family was asleep when the fire began, but woke up to the smell of smoke and escaped the burning home.
The backside roof collapsed partially and the home was destroyed.
Arson investigators were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
