A family of six was rushed to the hospital, moments after two cars collided in an intersection near Katy.  Four of the injured were young children.

The crash shut down Fry Road and the Interstate 10 feeder road in west Houston, near Katy, for hours overnight.  Houston Police spent hours collecting evidence.  Because of conflicting reports, it isn't known who ran a red light, that caused the crash.

A pickup truck and a small Jeep collided around 2 a.m. Sunday.  Inside the Jeep, investigators said, was a family of six.  A mother and father were sitting in the front.  Four children, ages one, seven, nine and 12 were sitting in the back, according to investigators.

The nine-year-old was ejected from the Jeep.  All four children were flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

It is not clear whether any of the children were properly belted into the Jeep.
