Ex-aide accused in West Texas nursing home assault
Victim secretly saved DNA on napkin
An aide at a West Texas nursing home has been charged with sexual assault of a resident who secretly saved DNA evidence on a napkin.
A Brownwood police report says the 68-year-old woman has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair plus needs help bathing.
Brown County Jail records show 45-year-old Christopher Lynn Cantrell was being held Wednesday on $50,000 bond. Online jail records don't list an attorney for Cantrell. He was arrested Friday.
Investigators say the woman last July told police she had been attacked several times by Cantrell and gave officers DNA evidence.
Cantrell denied the allegations and provided a DNA sample. An affidavit says Cantrell was informed last week that the results matched and he said the woman instigated the sexual contact.
Cantrell has been suspended.
