HOUSTON -

The prosecution's star witness in the fraud trial of jailed Texas tycoon Robert Allen Stanford has finished testifying.

James M. Davis, the former chief financial officer for Stanford's companies, wrapped up his testimony in Houston federal court on Wednesday by pointing to the financier and saying "follow the money" when asked by a prosecutor where billions in investor funds ended up.

Prosecutors claim Stanford bilked investors out of more than $7 billion in a Ponzi scheme centered on the sales of certificates of deposit from his Caribbean bank on the island nation of Antigua.

Stanford's attorneys claim Davis was behind the fraud and is lying to get a reduced prison term.

Davis, who was questioned for more than four days, has pleaded guilty in a deal with prosecutors.
