Drug agents return stolen bird to Texas couple
Narcotics agents return stolen parrot to South Texas couple, another bird still missing
A South Texas couple has their stolen parrot back thanks to narcotics agents who discovered the brightly colored bird in a house.
The Victoria Advocate reported Wednesday that a green Mexican parrot named Gilbert has been returned to Mark and Laurie Garretson. Investigators say Gilbert was found at a residence. Details weren't released.
The Garretsons on March 4 arrived at their Victoria garden nursery business to find a broken door and Gilbert and another parrot named Mattie gone. The couple went public with the search for their pets.
Drug agents Tuesday contacted the Garretsons to say they found a parrot believed to be Gilbert. Laurie Garretson says Gilbert chirped and moved closer to her when she looked into the agents' vehicle and saw the caged creature.
Mattie remains missing.
