HOUSTON -

A driver was rushed to a hospital early Friday after his vehicle slammed into a tree.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the crash happened on Barker Cypress near Spellbrook about 2 a.m.

Detectives said the driver veered off the road at a curve and traveled through a grass median before he crashed into a tree.

The driver was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. His name has not been released.
