HOUSTON -

A man died after crashing his car into a pole in northwest Houston.

Houston police said a 25-year-old driver speeding south on North Houston Rosslyn Road lost control of his Nissan Altima near West Little York Road about 3:40 a.m.

Police said the car went up onto a median, across oncoming traffic lanes and crashed head-on into a utility pole.  The driver died on impact. His name has not been released.

According to HPD, speed played a role in the wreck.
