A driver has been charged in connection with a pedestrian's death.

Roberto Botello-Lopez, 38, has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

Houston police Botello-Lopez was driving southbound in the 1500 block of Blalock near Long Point Road about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Investigators said Botello-Lopez hit a 27-year-old man who was trying to cross four lanes of traffic. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to Memorial City Hospital, where he died.

Botello-Lopez was questioned at the scene and arrested.
