Donate to Souper Bowl of Caring food drive
Donate until Super Bowl on Feb. 3
After another year of tough economic times for many Houstonians and their families, KPRC Local 2 is once again proud to partner with the Houston Food Bank during our annual Souper Bowl of Caring food drive.
Last year, Houstonians came out in record numbers and donated more than 3.2 million meals to their fellow citizens in need. This year, officials hope to provide 3.5 million meals to Houstonians.
The Souper Bowl of Caring kicked off Wednesday morning.
"We are delighted to be kicking-off this annual community-wide initiative again at the Houston Food Bank to help showcase the important work of this leading hunger-relief agency," said Tracy Bender, [resident and CEO of Souper Bowl of Caring. "This event is a tangible example of the giving and serving taking place throughout Houston during the Souper Bowl of Caring campaign."
You can make non-perishable food donations at your local Kroger, Randalls or H-E-B store through Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 3. Just look for the Houston Food Bank red barrel.
Houstonians can also purchase a pre-made bag of groceries or make a monetary donation.
As a proud partner in the community, Local 2 takes pride in our continued involvement in Souper Bowl of Caring. It provides the opportunity for Houstonians to stand united and take an innovative approach to alleviate national hunger. The community-wide drive hopes to shed light on the pressing need to tackle hunger relief in our very own neighborhoods.
