Doggie door burglar may be connected to other break-ins
Break-ins with rocks may be work of doggie door burglar
A break-in in the Montrose area may be the work of the doggie door burglar, but this time he didn't use a doggie door.
Houston police said a rock was used to break into Hi Cleaners in the 100 block of West Gray on Jan. 20.
The cleaners' security camera caught images of the break-in, officials said. After breaking the glass, the man circled back, pulled himself up about 8 feet and he wiggled through the hole.
The man tried to take an electric fan, but he couldn't get it out. He ended up taking a TV set, an extension ladder, a toaster oven, a couple of space heaters and a radio.
Other businesses have been hit in recent months, police said. Hefley BBQ was broken into the same way. Someone knocked out a small window with a rock. A nearby car wash was also targeted.
The suspect in the dry cleaning business burglary appeared to be the same man who has been breaking into houses by going through doggie doors. He has hit at least two homes in the neighborhood, but police said he may be responsible for others.
