Disney sets sail from Galveston
Cruise line not just for kids, reps. said
Disney Magic Cruise Line set sail Saturday from Galveston for the first time, giving kids of all ages a new reason to celebrate.
Disney representatives said the cruise line isn't just for kids.
"It's more than just cruising," said Disney Magic Cruise Director Peter Hofer. "It's also destination. We have some great destinations. We'll head to the Caribbean, of course -- Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, and Cozumel Mexico."
The ship has 11 decks, 877 state rooms, can hold 2,700 passengers and is serviced by 1,000 crew members from all over the world.
"Whether you're eight or 80-years-old, you will have a good time," said Hofer. "There is literally something for everyone. We have one floor dedicated just for kids, there are several pool areas, and adults can have their fun as well."
Disney characters from Mickey to Snow White will be on board.
"It's about coming into a family, and we are all about family. The guest becomes a part of that family," said Hofer.
Passengers can choose from four, six, seven or eight-night cruise packages.
