Deputies search for missing Liberty County man

CLEVELAND, Texas -

Officials said they found his car, but still no trace of the missing man.

Liberty County Sheriff's Deputies and Texas Equusearch volunteers were looking in an empty field off Highway 321 in Tarkington, near Cleveland on Sunday, for a man they said had been missing for several days.

Officials said 62-year-old Edwin Clark Rogers was last seen on December 30, when he said he was on his way to see his mother.

Captain Rex Evans of the Liberty County Sheriff's Office said Rogers' green 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee was found with his cell phone and medication inside on Friday on the side of highway 321 in Tarkington.

Investigators said they don't know yet if foul play was involved.
