A stranger ordered a teenage boy to get into his pickup truck, investigators said.
Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said the incident happened near the intersection of Debra's Trace and Oxford Bend in the Katy area, near Beck Junior High, about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 31.
Investigators said the 13-year-old boy was riding his bicycle when the man stopped and told him to get into his vehicle. The boy rode away as fast as he could and the man sped away, detectives said.
The driver was described as Hispanic, about 40 years old and chubby with short, thick black hair and a mustache. He had a tattoo on the left side of his face, but the boy couldn't describe its design. The man was last seen wearing a long-sleeved, button-down shirt with stripes.
The vehicle was described as a brown or beige, older-model, single-cab pickup truck with a dark-tinted rear window. There was a sticker on the back window, but the boy was not able to describe it in detail.
