Deputies: Man shot, killed on apartment doorstep
Man was shot when he tried to force way into apartment, says deputies
Harris County deputies say they are investigating a shooting death that occurred Friday at an apartment complex on Barker Cypress near Western Pass.
A man was shot and killed on the doorstep of a third-floor apartment at 10 p.m. Friday night, said deputies.
Deputies believe he was shot when he tried to force his way into the apartment. They said he knocked on the door, and when the people inside refused to open it, he may have pushed his way inside the apartment. Deputies believe this is when he was killed.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they said two men were there. One of the men is the apartment renter.
Deputies are talking to the two men about the series of events that led to the man's death.
