A day care has been shut down after allegations of abuse.
Children's Protective Services officials said they are investigating Susan Odell, who ran a day care out of her home on Jolly Boat Drive in the Crosby area.
Sources told KPRC Local 2 that the parents of an 8-week-old reported last month that their child's leg was broken while Odell was taking care of their son. The child had been cared for at Odell's day care for three days when the child was injured, sources said.
Odell has not been charged with a crime.
KPRC Local 2 tried to talk to Odell to get her side of the story, but her husband simply denied the allegations and closed the door when reporter Nefertiti Jaquez went to the home.
Odell's day care is considered a "listed family home." The means it's not regulated by the state and she is allowed to care for up to three children. Since she's not licensed, she is required to complete an application, pay a fee and pass a criminal background check.
