Dad Finds Daughter's Body In Closet
Cause Of Trang Van's Death Under Investigation
A father found his daughter dead when he arrived at their northwest Harris County home on Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said Trang Van, 18, was killed at her home in the 10100 block of Lazy Lagoon. Her father found her body in a closet in the master bedroom at about 8:45 p.m.
"My neighbor came banging on my door basically screaming," Gabriel Garza said. "Couldn't understand what he was saying and by the time I made it downstairs he had already gone back to his yard. I yelled at him, 'What's the matter?' That's when he started yelling at me, 'Someone killed my daughter! Someone killed my daughter! She's in the house."
Van's death is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives have not said how she died.
"We're shocked," Van's uncle, Chi, said.
Van's friends said she recently graduated from high school. Jeremy Galvan said he recently went to the movies with her.
"She was acting fine, like nothing was wrong with her or anything," he said. "She was just acting like a normal Trang, laughing and punching. She always punched people. The next day, she's gone. Just can't believe it."
Investigators have not released any information about possible suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
