HPD: Armed customer shoots another customer in head
Customer wounded in shooting at Fed Ex store
A customer shot another customer in a northwest Houston Fed Ex store Wednesday.
Houston police said two customers got into a fight shortly after 8 a.m. at the Fed Ex Office at 13181 Northwest Freeway near Hollister.
The fight escalated, and one man pulled out a gun and shot the other customer in the head, investigators said.
The bullet grazed the customer's forehead. Police said he was lucky to be alive because he was shot at such a close range.
The suspect got into a yellow van and took off, police said.
The victim said he did not know the gunman, who remained on the loose.
Gail Branch pulled up to the Fed Ex location shortly after the shooting.
"It's not common that you drive up anywhere -- that you see multiple (police) vehicles and you think automatically that something is going on, something dangerous," she said. "It's unbelievable -- scary."
