The Houston Zoo lit up Friday night with hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights in animal-themed displays.

Houston Mayor Annise Parker flipped the switch Friday that transformed the zoo into an exotic winter wonderland.

The lights form more than 50 animal-themed displays throughout the zoo. Everything from illuminated alligators and even Santa's reindeer is on display.

Zoo visitors with an iPhone or Android smart phone can download a free Zoo Lights guided tour.
