Constables investigate car burglary, stabbing at Carter's Country
Authorities: Witness stabbed suspect with pocket knife
Detectives are investigating at least one car burglary and stabbing at Carter's Country in Spring.
Before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables said four people, three men and one woman, pulled up to the firearms retail store in the 6200 block of Treaschwig with the intention of breaking into cars.
Investigators said two were lookouts while two canvassed the cars.
It was at this point they said a 50-year-old man walking out of the store to his car caught one suspect inside. He confronted him and the two got into a struggle.
Several people heard the commotion and walked outside. The suspect managed to slip away but before he could escape, a witness ran after him and the two began to fight.
Fearing for his life, investigators said, the witness pulled out his pocket knife and stabbed the suspect.
Authorities said one of the lookouts ran over and started hitting the witness with his gun. Several people ran over to stop the suspect. They were able to hold both suspects down until investigators arrived on scene.
The four suspects were arrested. Authorities said one of them was taken to Ben Taub for his stab wound.
The suspects are facing felony charges including, burglary of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault and unlawfully carrying a handgun.
