Congress gets ready to heat up again
Beyond The Headlines airs at 5:30 a.m. Sundays
Jan. 15: Congress goes back to work
Whose fault is the constant log jam in congress? What will it take to make progress for the nation? Those are just two of the questions that need to be answered in 2012.
The political season is about to heat up again! The GOP primary activity has been the focus of much attention during the Christmas break. Senators and representatives head back to Washington this week to get back to work doing the business of the people. But how much real work will get done? Joining me this week on Beyond the Headlines are U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-18th) and U.S. Rep Kevin Brady (R-8th).
In what areas does the Texas delegation work together? Where are the differences and can they be bridged? How will redistricting, now being decided by the courts, affect voters in Texas?
All of these questions will be answered as well as their analysis of the GOP primary season, what it will take to defeat President Obama and which Republican has the best chance of doing it -- if it can be done at all.
Join host Khambrel Marshall for this lively half hour "congressional conversation."
