Condolences are pouring into Colorado this afternoon after least 12 people are were killed and dozens more injured after an attack at a packed movie theater.

Condolences are pouring into Colorado this afternoon.
At least 12 people are dead, dozens more injured after an attack at a packed movie theater.
Many of victims thought the violence unfolding was all part of the the film...but tragically they were wrong.
The suspect is in custody, but the investigation into what provoked his attack is only just beginning.
Stacey Cohan has the latest developments from Washington.

There is at least one person that's been shot but there are hundreds of people just running around.
CHAOS AND PANIC FOLLOWING A SHOOTING AT A MIDNIGHT SHOWING OF "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES."
AUTHORITIES SAY A MAN PROPPED OPEN AN EXIT DOOR TO THEATER NINE AT THIS AURORA, COLORADO, CINEMA AND THREW IN A SMOKE CANISTER BEFORE ALLEGEDLY UNLEASHING A SPRAY OF GUNFIRE ON UNSUSPECTING MOVIEGOERS.
All you can hear is just gunfire left and right. Every time someone would try to get out of the way he would just shoot them. He didn't have a specific agenda, he was just shooting people left and right.
LAW ENFORCEMENT SOURCES IDENTIFY THE SUSPECT AS 24-YEAR-OLD JAMES HOLMES.
OFFICERS SEARCHED HIS CAR AND EVACUATED THE APARTMENT COMPLEX WHERE HE LIVES, AFTER THE SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY MADE COMMENTS ABOUT EXPLOSIVES.
Our investigation determined his apartment is booby trapped with various chemical and incendiary devices and apparent trip wires. It may be resolved in hours or days.
AS THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE CRIME CONTINUES, THE COMMUNITY IS RALLYING TOGETHER.
We've taken a blow today, but we we will get back on our feet, we will move ahead.
THE PRESIDENT HELD A MOMENT OF SILENCE AND CALLED FOR A DAY OF PRAYER AND REFLECTION IN MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS.
It's a reminder that life is very fragile. Our time is fragile and precious.
HOLMES COULD BE IN COURT AS EARLY AS MONDAY.
