HOUSTON -

Members of the community took to the streets, canvasing the area around apartment complex where police said three women were sexually assaulted.

Quanell X, along with residents from the Mills Apartments on Bissonnet in southwest Houston, canvased the area, handing out fliers and giving residents safety tips.

Composite sketches were released Tuesday of the two suspects.

Houston police said in all of the attacks, the armed suspect forced his victims at gunpoint into a vacant apartment where he sexually assaulted them. He fired a weapon into the air in one of the cases, officials said. A second suspect was present in at least two of the assaults, but police said he did not participate in the assaults.

The attacks happened at the following locations.

Police said both suspects were described only as black males.  One is 17 to 21 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a small, but slightly muscular build.  He was believed to be armed with a revolver.  The other suspect is in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, with a medium to thick build.

Three composite sketches were released of the armed suspect and one was of the man dubbed the "lookout suspect."

Anyone with information in these cases is asked to contact the HPD Special Crimes Division at 713-308-1100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
