City Hall Farmer's Market kicks off
It's kick-off time, not just for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, but also the Spring season of the City Hall Farmers Market.
There are now more than 35 vendors, including five new ones.
The market has been known for the Best Local Lunch Downtown with farmers' fresh produce, cheeses, coffee, made-to-order and pre-made meals, desserts, and vegan and vegetarian options.
The city of Houston and Urban Harvest will host the Market in front of City Hall from 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. every Wednesday between Feb. 22 and June 27.
On Wednesday, Chef German Mosquera of the new Roots Bistro, will occupy the Chef's Corner and demonstrate his skills on a variety of dishes to share with the crowd.
The City Hall Farmers Market welcomes new vendors during the spring season, including Wicked Whisk, Divine Teriyaki, Bread n' Butter, Gooey Butter Girls Cake Co., and Chef Roy's Catering.
It's a great way to support local farmers and assist in helping 'micro businesses.
Where: Houston City Hall, 901 Bagby, Outside City Hall, around the Reflection Pond
Parking: Downtown dwellers and employees are encouraged to walk. There's also garage parking at 400 Rusk or metered street parking.
