Chase ends on South Loop

A man was arrested Wednesday after leading officers on a chase that ended with the South Loop being blocked off to traffic.
Investigators said the chase started near the South Loop at Telephone Road shortly after 7 a.m.
Officers boxed in the suspect's vehicle on the Loop at Crestmont. The lanes were blocked off to prevent any vehicles from accidentally hitting the suspect in case he made a run for it, officials said.
The man was taken into custody.
Officials have not yet said why officers tried to pull over the suspect.
