Charges filed in Houston soldier's killing

FORT CARSON, Colo. -

Charges have been filed in connection with the death of a soldier from Houston.

Spc. Brandy Fonteneaux, 28, was found dead in the barracks at Fort Carson, Colo., on Jan. 8.

A fellow soldier has been accused of killing her.

Sgt. Vincinte L. Jackson has been charged with murder with premeditation. He has been placed in pretrial confinement.

The motive for the killing has not been released.

Fonteneaux was a food service specialist in the 4th Engineer Battalion and served in the Army for more than two years.
