Celebrities prepare for Texans playoff game
Kickoff for Texans-Bengals game set for 3:30 p.m.
Tens of thousands of fans will fill seats at Reliant Stadium on Saturday as the Houston Texans take on the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card playoff game.
Getting a sneak peak of what's to come, Local 2's Ryan Korsgard met up with some of the Houston Texans cheerleaders, who were fired up for the playoff game at home.
"It's a blast. I'm so glad that we're playing here," said cheerleader Lauren L. "We have a chance to play on our home field. I'm ready to see our boys come out here and kick it off, touchdown after touchdown."
Performers said they will feel each and every one of the fans seating in the stadium's seats Saturday.
"People use the word 'inspiration,'" said country music star Clay Walker when asked to describe the feeling he gets when stepping up on stage. "It comes from a very deep word actually. I don't want to go into all of that, but just the feeling I get. The inspiration that comes. There's a lot of power that comes from the people, those bodies. They're joyful and they're happy. It's like Christmas. You don't know what's in the box, but you know it's going to be good."
Terry McDermott of NBC's "The Voice" received the call this week to perform. He said he's never performed in a place like this before.
"I've done big crowds and obviously the show, 'The Voice,'" said McDermott. "Large audiences, TV audiences, I think there will be a lot of people here tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it."
Local 2's Ryan Korsgard told McDermott there could be about 71,000 people that arrive on Saturday.
"71? Oh well, if it were 70, then I would have been calm, but 71? That extra thousand makes a difference," said McDermott. "It makes all the difference. It's gonna be great."
