HOUSTON -

A driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing his car into a northwest Houston Jack in the Box restaurant.

The man crashed his car into the restaurant on Bingle and Little York at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officials said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit a curb and flew into the store, plowing through the dining room.

No customers were inside at the time of the crash, and police said the driver only suffered minor injuries.

Jack in the Box said the store would remain closed for the remainder of the weekend while crews worked to get things back in order.

Officials said employees were given the choice to take the weekend off or go to another store to work.
