Hair store theft
HOUSTON -

A storeowner walked into her shop over the weekend and found out she had been the target of thieves.

"They took all of our human hair," Tiffany Speller said.

Speller owns Tiffany's Chanel Luxury Hair in the 2500 block of the South Loop West near Kirby. Sometime between the time she closed the store on Friday and went to open it on Saturday, a group of burglars broke in, but not through the doors.

Houston police said the burglars started going through the back door of a neighboring business. They used crow bars to hack out the doorknob and pry the door open, officials said. The thieves then tore down an adjoining wall and ripped out the backs of Speller's storage cabinets, investigators said.

The burglars stole about $90,000 worth of expensive hair. They took everything but one pack of extensions.

Speller said she does have security cameras, but they were on the other side of the wall, so there is no video of the burglary.

A woman working late at another neighboring business saw five men outside the store after it closed. Police said they want to talk to those men.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
