Burglar smashes glass to steal from jewelry store

HOUSTON -

A burglar smashed a hole in glass to break into a jewelry store in The Woodlands and surveillance video was released on Tuesday.

The crime occurred at Thomas Markle Jewelry Store at 9595 Six Pines Drive at 11:45 p.m. Monday.

After the crook broke the side-window glass, he cleared the shards and ran ran into the store, where he stole jewelry.

The sheriff's office said, "When deputies arrived, they found that someone had entered the store through a side window and took several of pieces of jewelry from a display case." 

The break-in set off a burglar alarm but the crook escaped.

The suspect was only described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a white hoodie, gloves and dark-colored shorts.

Earlier this month, a man walked into the Tiffany's store, pulled out a gun and pepper-sprayed everyone inside. Sources said investigators are talking to Donyesta Lang, of Dallas, in connection with the Tiffany's case. Lang is currently held in Dallas County on an aggravated robbery charge out of Montgomery County.
