Boy, 17, accused of making bomb
17-year-old accused of making, throwing bomb
A 17-year-old has been accused of making a bomb out of household products and throwing it at a neighbor's house, Willis police told Local 2 Investigates.
Police said Austin Wayne Frazier, 17, made the bomb out of household cleaner, aluminum foil and a plastic bottle. Detectives said Frazier told them he learned how to do it by watching videos on YouTube.
Joanne Fillol said she was enjoying a quiet night on her porch when she saw Frazier stop in front of a neighbor's house.
"Then (he) threw something and there was a loud explosion," Fillol said. "I'm talking loud. I ran, just took off and hauled butt to check on the kids that were there."
No one was injured.
"I have kids of my own and that's dangerous, absolutely dangerous. The door could have blown off," Fillol said.
She helped lead police to Frazier's house.
"The kid was sticking his head out the door to see what was going on. He was watching," Fillol said.
Investigators said Frazier admitted to tossing the bottle-bomb on the porch after a dispute with another teenager. Detectives did not elaborate on the dispute.
Local 2 Investigates went to Frazier's house. His grandmother, Fannie Gilbert, answered the door.
"He never said what was bothering him so much?" KPRC investigative reporter Robert Arnold asked.
"He never told me. He's not much of a talker," Gilbert said.
Frazier was arrested Wednesday night and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
He was charged with arson and has posted a $1,000 bond.
