The body of a boater who disappeared after two boats collided in Baytown has been found.
Baytown police said a 17-foot center console boat and a jon boat collided on Cedar Bayou just south of Roseland Park about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, turning over the jon boat and sending both passengers overboard.
One passenger, 35-year-old Damon D. Miller, died. Police said his body was found around 7 a.m. Monday, about a mile and a half north of the collision.
The second victim, a 19-year-old man, was not seriously hurt.
Witnesses said the two men in the 17-foot hastily made their way back to a boat ramp, loaded it onto the back end of a late model Ford 250 pickup truck, and took off.
Late Sunday, brothers Jason Clyde Delavergne, 36, and Joseph Charles Delavergne, 33, turned themselves in. They have both been charged with failure to stop and render aid. Additional charges may be filed in the case.
