Bike burglars caught on tape

Two thieves were caught on camera breaking into Houston-area bike shops and stealing thousands of dollars worth of bicycles.

The men smashed into the Bike Barn in the 5300 block of Weslayan and Bissonnet on Thursday, officials said. They escaped with four hybrid bikes, each worth $900.

Earlier in the week, the crooks broke into a Bike Barn at 629 South Mason Road near Katy with a crowbar to smash the glass, according to investigators. They stole four women's bikes, also worth $900 each.

The Bike Barn owner told Local 2 that she believes the same thieves are responsible for a string of burglaries at bike shops in November.
