The National Weather Service believes straight-line winds wiped out a metal barn Thursday.
Emily Pugh and her son, Ty, were inside their home in Goodrich, just 200 feet away from their now destroyed barn.
"Very thankful, because if it had hit the house, it would have taken us," said Pugh.
The National Weather Service meteorologists said the damage was caused by a severe thunderstorm. They think it was likely a microburst, since the radar at the time showed a classic bow echo.
No one was hurt.
