A home for sale in northeast Houston was badly damaged early Wednesday morning after a fire.

Houston firefighters arrived at the house on Wiggins Street near Laurentide around 3:30 a.m.

The flames were so intense, firefighters said they were forced outside the one-story brick home.

They were able to put it out after utility crews arrived to shut off the gas and electricity.

Neighbors said no one was living in the home. It was actually for sale.

Arson is investigating the cause.

No one was hurt.
