A group of robbers got away with several hundred dollars in cash and thousands of dollars worth of cellphones in a Pasadena cell phone store robbery.
The robbers rushed into a Pasadena cellphone store Thursday afternoon and forcefully took cash and cell phones, Pasadena police said.
"One of them held a gun to my back and my head," store manager Richi Sankar said. "I just told my employees to stay calm and give them what they want."
"They got away with about $600 in cash and more than 60 cellphones worth about $20,000," store owner Matt Fitzgerald said. "They came in around 1:45 p.m."
Surveillance video from the incident shows three people wielding guns and dressed in hoodies and masks ordering three employees to the back of the store, where the safe is kept.
"I couldn't see their faces because they were all covered up," Sankar said. "But one of them was a woman. I could tell by the sound of her voice."
Sankar said that a fourth person drove the robbers away from the Sprint Store on 2931 Spencer Highway in a green minivan.
Despite being emotionally shaken up, none of the employees were injured.
"The man upstairs was watching over us," Richi said. "So, I have that to be thankful for."
