HUFFMAN, Texas -

After more than five hours of negotiation, deputies took an armed and dangerous man into custody who had barricaded himself in Huffman.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred in the 900 block of Lone Pine Drive.

S.W.A.T. team members blocked off many of the streets in the neighborhood after they said a man barricaded himself inside a home with another person.

According to authorities, Constable Precinct 3 deputies had attempted to serve a warrant against the suspect; the situation escalated, and he locked himself inside with a weapon.

HCSO said its High Risk Operations Unit was deployed and negotiated with the suspect for a peaceful surrender.

The man is charged with aggravated assault for injuries caused to his sister prior to barricading himself.  These charges are in addition to any previous outstanding charges.
