Three people were taken to a hospital after an apartment fire in The Woodlands Sunday.
Investigators said the fire broke out at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Panther Creek at 4:30 p.m. The majority of residents at the complex are senior citizens, officials said.
Initial reports were that the three people taken to the hospital suffered from smoke inhalation.
Fire crews were able to tackle the flames quickly, but officials said they evacuated an entire wing as a precaution. At least 60 residents were evacuated.
Officials said damage was contained to the unit where the fire started. The fire marshal is investigating the cause.
