A cat found in a plastic bag on the side of the road at the intersection of West Street and Southgate Drive was the victim of animal cruelty, investigators from The Rosenberg Animal Control Unit believe. Now, police are trying to find out what may have happened to the gray, short haired male tabby volunteers named "Sam."
On Feb. 22, police were called to investigate a plastic bag on the side of the road, which appeared to be moving. When they arrived, they discovered the animal inside of the bag. According to police, the cat had dried blood on its front legs and was dazed, but conscious.
The cat was transported to the Richmond Animal Hospital. Sam died from his injuries on Feb. 24, according to reports.
Anyone with any information about what may have happened to Sam should call The Rosenberg Police Department, Criminal Investigation Division at (832) 595-3720 or Crime Stoppers (281) 342-TIPS.
