Abandoned house catches fire

Abandoned house fire northeast Houston
HOUSTON -

Detectives are investigating how an abandoned house in northeast Houston caught fire.

Around 11 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at Evelyn Street near Hardy Street and found a house fully engulfed in flames.

They fought the blaze and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the house next door, although firefighters said the flames did spread to a nearby field.

No one was injured in the fire.
